“How to survive the Salem Witch Trials” Zine

Our final project was to create a "how to" zine of our choosing in InDesign. I chose to do "How to Survive the Salem Witch Trials" because it really inspired me design-wise and pushed me creatively. Such a detail-oriented gothic-style design is not my specialty, and it was a challenge to work with fonts and graphics I had not used before. I wanted to pull paintings from the time period as the focal point of the page, while including other medieval elements to make the spreads feel ornate and detailed.

This is the second year in a row that my final has been a zine, which is a fun coincidence, but more importantly, displays the creative and cohesive growth I've had since last year. This zine is much more advanced in skill and concept than my previous one, and I am very excited with how it turned out.

Created with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.
